Hi, just want to say that, being a cat lover, I love your site! :) I have a lovely moggy called Snowy, which I've had for almost 3 years who shares the same birthday as my mum...!

thanks for the website...I am now thinking its the splashing of the water on the buttocks they dislike when they go #2. So....have only a small amount of water flow into the toilet or put some toilet paper in to stop the splash. I wish I had known that before, so one of mine wouldn't have gotten shy about it. The other one loves water, so isn't so bothered by it.

Congratulations on training and persitance. I did exactly the same, but had two cats (kittens) started at 3 months. The Black and White never goes on the floor and was perfect although I took a good year to get to this point. My other cat looks alot like yours and she has decided to go poop on the floor. I figure, it is still better than cleaning a cat box with two cats. They both pee willingly and because I am not sure about the possibility of it going bac kwards I leave the green ring in with little litter now. I believe the bengal looking cat doesn't like going where she has just peed, so I got an automatic flusher (home use-sensor attaches to the wall near the toilet) which helped somewhat. However, sometimes the toilet doesn't flush it all so the smell is still there, or they stay out of the way of the sensor. You have to get them used to the flush. When I started this project I also got a second toilet base and set it up near the flushing toilet with a duplicate Litter Kwitter set for training. I keep reducing the litter in that one and make the smaller ring, so that they can choose what they are ready for. My B&W peed in the toilet without the ring the other day when I forgot to return it..of course I pretend it was a "test". The one that is "bad" knows I want her to go on the toilet, so she plans it all when I am not around, but at least she goes on the heavy piece of plastic which is just not problem dumping into the toilet. If your cat can go outside then that is great, but ours are strictly indoor. It is a great thing to work with your cat in this manner. They have been at it for a little over a year..and I am pleased. I only advise it for people that really are dedicated and patient and know how long it can take. I believe our B&W cat could have had it down in maybe 4 months, but I had to go slow with the other one although she pooped in the toilet well first, she just is more finicky is all. Some will, and some won't. I also did the treat thing, but if you aren't there to give them the treat will they decide its not worth doing for "no" reward? I leave their dry food near, so they can treat themself when they finish.

hi angie! i love your blog site! i have a seven week old kitten who is a non-pedigree but i think she has some features of oriental cats. i also adopted 2 of the 6 stray cats around my block of flats and one of them sleeps outside my house while the other one roams freely but always comes to meow at me for food or attention when i am going to school or just downstairs. i really love cats (and dogs too actually) and i think sophie is a very beautiful and clever cat!
